Pollution

In 2016, a report by the World Economic Forum and Ellen MacArthur Foundation found that, given the projected growth in consumption, by 2050 oceans are expected to contain more plastics than fish (by weight). Next to marine litter, the Wadden Sea faces threats of oil pollution, chemical waste, and eutrophication.

This chapter looks at the different kinds of pollution threatening the conservation of the Wadden Sea.
